Today I was informed that one of my friends has passed away. I would like to write a short paragraph about him.
I met Enrique when I moved to Colorado. He was a receptionist at the motel I lived for a week. Although He had a teaching license for English, he always said he didn't like teaching and he only tutored some of his friends for a short period. He hoped that he had the money to attend Boulder College of Massage Therapy to be a masseur. As someone who moved out of his hometown to a whole new place for the first time, it is great to have someone who can be trusted. He was that person for me. At the time, I was a college student at CU Boulder, I didn't own a car and I was pretty low on budget. He offered to help me with delivering new furniture to my house. And let me clarify by furniture I mean a desk, a shelf, and a floor lamp! He had a green mini van. He told me that he bought it for $1,500. It seemed a good deal, knowing that he used it a lot and didn't complain about it. He took me to Longmont, CO so that I can buy a decent priced mattress and to Denver for some other move in shopping. He also was a good friend when it came to giving advices. He helped me with some decisions in my relationship that had a great impact on my life. He loved his mother, he always talked about her and their house and their pecan trees. He had a son who lived with his ex-wife. He always talked about how smart he is. I met his son few times. He told me that me telling his son that I'm studying to be an engineer has motivated him to become an engineer. When I was leaving Colorado, he said "remember u can always come back I m here for u.... You are part of my family now...!! Enrique, you will be missed. Hi Guys! I had a little accident, so that was why I had a delay on posting this time. I'll tell you everything when I get a little bit better. Good luck everybody and enjoy the great day!
Hi everybody! I made a new friend today! YES! Mr. Squirrel! I was taking a picture from this cute creature when he decides to come and check on my camera. His fingers are the cutest thing I've ever seen.
Today was a good day for me. I woke up at 5 O'clock in the morning and went to campus on 7:30. It was very refreshing heading out at that time after spending couple of days in home. My works also did go well and there was nothing today to be upset about. The best point of the day is 5:30 when I usually pass by this Cafe in EC and there are some free bagels or pastries or donuts set out every now and then. |
